This year, Camp Shalom is bringing BACK the WOW!

While we always enjoy Camp Shalom favorites like late nights and sleepovers, theme days, field trips, and Shabbat celebrations, this year we have brand new specialty camps, a brand new, in-house aquatics team, and incredible special events. Check out just some of the ways our camp stands out from the rest!

SAFETY

All counselors and staff must complete full background checks in order to work at camp. All of our building doors are locked and people must have an access pass to gain entry. In addition we have security guards around campus to make sure that everyone is safe.

LOW STAFF TO CHILD RATIOS

Our staff to camper ratio is 1:7, which is lower than many camps in the area. The low ratio allows counselors to form relationships with the campers and better supervise the activities of the day.

SWIMMING

Each camp unit in grades K-6 swim twice a day with instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon. The only time they don’t swim is if they are on a field trip. Yeladim, our preschool camp, has instructional swim three times a week. Lifeguards are always on duty throughout the camp day.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

Children can choose from over half a dozen specialty camps including basketball, skateboarding, circus, fishing, Drama Rama, and Broadway. This summer our campers can build and design a skateboard or perform Madagascar the Musical Jr. We’re thrilled to offer these new specialty camps!

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE

The camp day begins at 9am and ends at 4pm but we understand that those hours don’t work for everyone so we open our doors as early at 7:30am and close our doors as late as 6pm to accommodate working schedules.

INCREDIBLE AND MEMORABLE SPECIAL EVENTS

Who says there is no gold at Camp Shalom? Camp Shalom is known for their incredible special events days that include carnivals, wacky water day, gold rush, lip sync contest, and more! These are some of our most memorable days and the ones our campers talk about year after year.

FIRST-RATE COMMUNICATION

Every week campers come home with personalized letters from their counselors highlighting each camper’s favorite activities. Almost every day we send out emails that serve as reminders about what’s going on that parents need to know about. Unit heads have email addresses to provide more direct contact and communication. A professional photographer takes pictures at all the activities and you’ll get access to those pictures to share with family and friends.
