Are you ready for an amazing summer adventure? Tzofim is back and better than ever with away field trips! Day camp is perfect for younger children, but for your pre-and early teenagers, they want thrills, excitement, a sense of freedom and independence. They want Tzofim! This unique, off-site camp uses the JCC as a home base. From here, they venture out through South Florida for a week of day trips and then all around the great state for away trips. Tzofim participants must sign up for a two week session. This program is supervised by Senior Counselors and a Unit Head experienced with pre- and early teenagers.

Counselor In Training (CIT)

Our CIT program is a truly maturing experience, offering teens (entering 9th and 10th grade) hands-on experiences working with children, building self-confidence, and preparing them for future responsibilities. CIT’s are exposed to leadership training, self-esteem building, mentoring, planning, goal setting, and working as part of a team.

Not only will CITs learn to create a safe environment for our campers, they’ll be in the middle of the action having just as much fun. In fact, CITs have their own activities, field trips and a two-day/one-night camping retreat. They also receive continuous guidance through weekly mentoring/evaluation sessions. Priority hiring for Camp Shalom counselors is given to those who have successfully completed our CIT program.
