Adele Fine - Early Childhood Assistant Director/Camp Shalom Jr. Director

Shalom, I am Adele Fine and have been working at the Hochman Branch JCC for the past 7 years. I have been involved with several JCCs throughout the country as a child at the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh, as a parent at the JCC of the Palm Beaches, as an educator at the JCC of the Palm Beaches and now as the Early Childhood Assistant Director/Camp Shalom Jr. Director at the Edward and Thelma Glantz Early Childhood Learning Center. I have earned a BA in Communication from the University of Pgh., a MS in Education from Nova Southeastern University and have completed the Master Teacher Program for Israeli Engagement. I have a passion for fun, learning and growing. I know that school and camp both are important experiences in a young child’s life. I am confident that the JCC Camp Shalom Jr. is a place for your camper to create memorable and lifelong experiences!

Tema Friedman - Early Childhood Director

Tema Friedman has been the Early Childhood Director at the Edward and Thelma Glantz Early Childhood Center at the Hochman JCC since January of 2007. Prior to that, she held the same position at the West Palm Beach branch since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College, a Director’s Credential from the State of Florida. She has done graduate work in the field of Early Childhood and is a certified Early Childhood teacher in the state of New York and Florida. She is a member of the Council for Jewish Education in Palm Beach. Known as “Miss Tema” to the children, the major part of her career has been in the Jewish sector, holding director positions at The Posnack JCC and The Posnack Hebrew Day School.

Miss Tema brings to the Glantz Early Childhood Learning Center a sense of warmth and caring, in an educationally, enriched sound, nuturing environment. Miss Tema’s philosophy is that “Developmentally appropriate practices, parent involvement, meeting children’s individual needs and a deep sense of Judaism are all important factors in creating an atmosphere where children’s first educational experience is meaningful and fun! Preschool is a place to have a good educational foundation and create wonderful memories.”
