We are proud to welcome shlichim (Israeli counselors) to be part of Camp Shalom this summer. Shlichim (Hebrew for emissary), pass a rigorous screening process, receive extra training, and arrive prepared to lead daily and specialized activities. If you would like to host one of our shlichim for two or more weeks during the summer, please contact the Camp Office. This is a unique opportunity to have your family learn more about other cultures.
Shabbat and Jewish Values
Our camp is woven with the Jewish values of kavod (respect), community, and Hachnasat Orchim (welcoming guests). In addition to learning about Israeli culture from our visiting Shlichim (Israeli counselors), we also celebrate our week together with a Shabbat program that includes singing, dancing, challah snacks, and of course lots of ruach (spirit). Camp Shalom embraces and welcomes everyone in our community regardless of religious affiliation. We encourage everyone to seek meaning and fulfillment by participating in our rich programming inspired by our Jewish heritage.
